I give 5 stars to the Welsh Guardsman, along with 5 stars to the Prussian Captain!!!! I throughly enjoyed both books and love the time period, as well as knowing the characters are based on people in Ann Brough’s life. Looking forward to any and all books coming from my new favorite author!!!!

Ann Brough has a supreme talent for detailed description of British upper class life as well as the lives of the working class. Her imagery brought the stories to life and I literally could not put the book down, to the point losing sleep. — G. Perrier, review of The Prussian CaptainI absolutely loved loved loved this book as much as I did the first one. Laughed, cried….couldn’t put it down but didn’t want it to end! What a life she lived. Ann Brough brought her life right into yours…I hope she writes many more books!!! — Dixie A. Billups, review of The Welsh Guardsman

Loved this book. Could not put it down. So many twists and turns. It is a true story and the author did a good job capturing the events that took place during the war. I can’t wait to read the sequel. — Sally Reynolds, review of The Prussian CaptainI was pleasantly surprised when I started reading it, because it wasn’t another novel about the war… Interesting characters, wonderful plot, and something we all should be able to relate to. Rich guy falls in love with poor girl (oh the drama there), finds love, loses love, love triangles, it has it all. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it. — A Happy Reader, review of The Prussian Captain
